We know. We know. It's true. It's true. The EIGHT ANNUAL gigantic block party of all day live stage acts! FREE kids inflatable’s, 2’ high chess games, 19th century games, Scrap Art, and TONS more activities lining the streets has been cancelled until further notice!!

This is a HUGE decision to make--and Director Steve! did not make it lightly. After the usual "event challenges" that always come with a gigantic undertaking like this, some unexpected events arose which forced us to cancel the entire event (this late in the game)..... BUT! Watch this page for any updates that may occur between now and next week!

We're ELEVEN (YES!) YEARS OLD! And to celebrate--we're PAINTING THE TOWN GREEN!

This year—(the Friday nite series) Cool Kids goes Green Kids for the SECOND YEAR! –launching a campaign to make “green living” cool, fun and most importantly--simple.

BIG BAG BASH!!Our MOTTO is: Just ONE CHANGE!! Our 2010 goal is to continue to make green living simple and inspire families to ditch the plastic and convert to reusable bags for their shopping needs. We’re focusing on bags this year. Just bags! The average American family of four uses over 1,468 plastic bags a year!!! Most aren’t recycled. And plastic takes over 25 years to break down in landfills. Producing paper bags, on the other hand, deplete rainforests. Cool Kids has a goal of getting 100 families to switch to reusables! And if they do? We've saved over 90,000 bags from hitting landfills each year! And guess what?!!? Several sponsors have donated 100’s of reusable bags as incentive giveaways for Cool Kids who participate this summer!!!! Cool isn't it?!

Each Friday,Cool Kids! can bring and recycle sneakers —as a result of a partnership with the local Nike-Reuse-a-Show collection site: Monroe County Dept of Environmental Services! Last year-in 2008-Cool Kids!Green Kids! in Brockport alone recycled 250 pairs of sneakers! In 2009, the Cool Kids! series in Corning--over 550 pairs! The Cool Kids! series in Batavia--over 500 pairs!

During the Friday nite Cool Kids! series at Sagawa Park, Brockport NY---bring us ANY USED school, office, craft supplies! YEAH! We said USED! From nubby pencils to half-used paints, file folders to (even) backpacks and notebooks with 3 pages left!!!! We're PARTNERING with GreenSeeds --who sort, purge and GLADLY re-distribute these supplies to DOZENS and DOZENS of non-profits in the GREATER Rochester (NewYork) area and beyond!!! The program started just a few years ago and is EXPLODING with growth on both the donations end--and agencies looking to receive your cool castoff donations! SO! Don't throw it out!!! Bring it to us! Each Friday in downtown Brockport during the Summer!! Good news! Our first year--in 2009---you donated and GREENSEEDS redistributed over 20 HUGE boxes of GREAT used stuff!
